Martin  Currie Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 5 February 2010,  bought  back
250,000   ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  110.43  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 116,513,502 ordinary shares remain in issue.
