Martin  Currie  Portfolio  Investment Trust plc, on 4 March  2010,  bought  back
22,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of 120.7276p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 115,932,602 ordinary shares remain in issue.
