Martin  Currie  Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 25 March  2010,  bought  back
96,000  ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  125.272p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 114,633,916 ordinary shares remain in issue.
