Martin  Currie  Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 31 March  2010,  bought  back
25,000   ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  124.05p  per  share  for  immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 114,233,506 ordinary shares remain in issue.
