Martin  Currie  Portfolio Investment Trust plc, on 14 April  2010,  bought  back
28,500   ordinary  shares  at  a  price  of  127.5p  per  share  for   immediate
cancellation.

Following this purchase 113,959,870 ordinary shares remain in issue.
