Transaction in own shares - 25 August 2015

Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc (the "Company") announces that 130,026 ordinary shares in the aggregate purchased on 21 August 2014 and 22 August 2014 have been cancelled in accordance with the Company's treasury share policy approved by the Company's shareholders at its annual general meeting.

Following this cancellation, the Company holds 2,864,849 shares in treasury, and has a total of 101,203,517 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the Company's total number of shares with voting rights is 101,203,517.
