Transaction in own shares - 29 September 2015

Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc (the "Company") announces that 95,000 ordinary shares in the aggregate purchased on 22 September 2014 and 25 September 2014 have been cancelled in accordance with the Company's treasury share policy approved by the Company's shareholders at its annual general meeting.

Following this cancellation, the Company holds 2,571,403 shares in treasury, and has a total of 101,101,799 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the Company's total number of shares with voting rights is 101,101,799.
