Transaction in own shares - 6 October 2015

Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust plc (the "Company") announces that 90,000 ordinary shares purchased on 1 October 2014 have been cancelled in accordance with the Company's treasury share policy approved by the Company's shareholders at its annual general meeting.

Following this cancellation, the Company holds 2,713,834 shares in treasury, and has a total of 100,869,368 ordinary shares with voting rights (excluding Treasury shares) in issue.

In accordance with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the Company's total number of shares with voting rights is 100,869,368.
