AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting of McBride plc, the leading manufacturer of
private label household and personal care products in Europe, the Chairman,
Lord Sheppard, said:

'I am pleased to report that the trading performance for the Group in the July
to November 2001 period maintained the improvement that was achieved in the
second half of the last financial year.  Despite intense ongoing competition,
the tight control of input costs and increased sales have resulted in profits
from core household and personal care businesses being ahead of the equivalent
period last year.'

'Whilst the performance of Aerosol Products Ltd in November improved as a
result of cost reductions and price increases, this joint venture with Nichol
does continue to be a subject of focus and concern and we are actively
considering options for its future.'

'We announced on 9 November 2001 that discussions regarding potential offers
for the Group had terminated.   The Board now intends to focus on its two core
businesses.  The overall start to the year is reassuring, and the Board is
confident of a satisfactory outcome for the year.'
