McBride plc announces the forthcoming appointment of Finance Director
The Board of McBride plc is pleased to announce the forthcoming appointment of
Miles W Roberts as Group Finance Director. Miles will join McBride towards
the end of 2001 at a date to be agreed with his current employer, and replaces
Terry Monks who resigned earlier this year and leaves in the autumn.
Miles is an ACA having gained a BSc from Bristol University in civil
engineering. After training with Ernst & Young from 1988-1992, he spent three
years in financial management positions with Trafalgar House plc. In 1995 he
became Financial Controller of Vivendi Water a UK water subsidiary, and was
then Finance Director with Three Valleys Water Plc from 1997, before joining
his current employer, Costain Group plc as their Group Finance Director in
2000. Miles is 37 and married with four children.
Commenting on the appointment Mike Handley, Chief Executive said: 'Miles'
financial experience together with his involvement in the service focused
water industry and his early background in engineering with Ove Arup &
Partners will bring a strong contribution to McBride.'

personal care products supplying Europe's largest retailers. McBride plc
recently announced its preliminary results for the year ended 30 June 2001 and
advised; 'that the trading performance in July and August this year has
continued in line with the stronger fourth quarter of the last financial year.
Sales and profits of the core household and personal care products are ahead
of the equivalent period last year. Overall, trading profits in this two month
period have made up for the absence of Wrafton'.
