                              Board Appointment


Following the announcement made on the 14th September 2001, the Board of
McBride plc is pleased to announce that Miles W Roberts will join the Board as
Finance Director on 1st January 2002.



Miles joins from Costain Group plc where he has been Group Finance Director
since 2000. From 1997 he was Finance Director with Three Valleys Water Plc and
Financial Controller of Vivendi Water, a UK water subsidiary, from 1995. Miles
is an ACA having gained a BSc from Bristol University in civil engineering and
trained with Ernst & Young from 1988-1992.
