Section 198 Companies Act - Disclosure of Share Interest

We write in accordance with the above Act to advise you that, following the
purchase of 183,809 Ordinary Shares on 2nd May 2002, INVESCO Perpetual
International Core Fund now holds 8,938,603 shares of 10p each in McBride,
representing 5.03%* (previously 4.62%). The shares are registered in the name of
Vidacos Nominees Limited.

Please note that this holding was previously notified to us on 13th March 2002
under their aggregate holding of 14.07%.
