McBride PLC was today notified that, as at 4 March 2005, AXA S.A. and its Group
Companies are interested in 17,500,695 ordinary shares in the Company
representing 9.95% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.


These shares are represented by a beneficial interest of 5,386,111 ordinary
shares (3.06%) and a non-beneficial interest of 12,114,584 ordinary shares
(6.89%).
