McBride plc (McBride) announces that Andrew Butler, who has been a
non-executive director since flotation of the company in July 1995 is retiring
from the Board on 28 February 2001.  Andrew, who resides in Switzerland, has
been reducing his other business commitments for some time and has now decided
to retire fully.


He has made a significant contribution to the Board of McBride and the
directors wish him a long and happy retirement.
