The  Board  of McBride plc ('McBride' or 'the Company') has noted  the  recent
rise  in the Company's share price.  Following the announcement that the Board
intended  to  review  the  Group's strategic  options  in  order  to  maximise
shareholder  value,  on  2 June 2000, the Company has  received  a  number  of
preliminary enquiries from interested parties concerning a possible offer  for
the  Company.   Any discussions following such enquiries are at a  very  early
stage and hence there can be no certainty that any transaction will result.  A
further announcement will be made in due course.
