                             Purchase of own shares



McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 9 June 2006, it purchased through
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein 100,000 of its ordinary shares at 170.5p per
share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.


Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 572,852 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 177,041,941 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
