                             Purchase of own shares


McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 21 June 2006, it purchased through
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein 150,000 of its ordinary shares at 170p per share.
The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.


Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 1,022,852 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 176,596,234 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
