                             Purchase of own shares

McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 25 February 2005, it purchased
through Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein 125,000 of its ordinary shares at 157p
per share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 325,000 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 175,996,713 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
