                             Purchase of own shares



McBride PLC ('the Company') announces that on 23 June 2005, it purchased through
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein 250,000 of its ordinary shares at 141.5p per
share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.


Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 1,525,000 ordinary
shares in treasury and has a total of 177,216,497 ordinary shares (excluding
treasury shares) in issue.
