Appointment of non-executive Director
PMI is pleased to announce the appointment, with effect from 26 March 2001, as
a non-executive Director, of David Scotland, since 1995 an executive Director
and President - Europe of Allied Domecq plc. In this capacity, he is
responsible for a highly profitable turnover of approximately £1 billion and
over 3,000 employees.
David Scotland, 53, has a background in European sales and marketing, since
1973 in the wines and spirits trade - from 1973 to 1987 with John Harvey &
Sons, from 1987 to 1992 with Grand Metropolitan and from 1992 with Allied
Domecq. He was also a non-executive Director of Thomson Travel Group plc from
1998 until its take-over in 2000.
David Scotland's appointment follows that of Vernon Sankey as non-executive
Deputy Chairman in October 2000.
Welcoming David Scotland's appointment, Serge Crasnianski, CEO, stated '
Following Vernon Sankey's appointment as Deputy Chairman, we have been
looking, with Vernon's help, for other top quality businessmen to join our
Board in a non-executive capacity. David Scotland, like Vernon, has a FTSE
100 Board background and is known to the City. In addition, his expertise in
international brand management will prove valuable to PMI.'
Pursuant to paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules, the Company advises that Mr
Scotland has not held any directorships of other publicly quoted companies,
except as detailed above. Mr Scotland has no disclosable interests in the
shares of PMI. He has also confirmed that he has no details to disclose under
paragraphs 6.F.2(b) to 6.F.2(g) of the Listing Rules.
Notes for editors:
PMI operates approximately 20,000 photobooths in high footfall areas
world-wide, with its principal territories the UK, France and Japan. It also
manufactures both photobooths and photographic minilabs at its facility in
Grenoble in South East France. Both its photobooth business and its
increasingly important minilab business are focused on digital technology.
PMI currently has 10 Directors: five executive Directors - Serge Crasnianski
(Chief Executive Officer), Jean-Luc Peurois (Group Finance Director), Peter
Ogborne, Riccardo Costi and Francois Giuntini - and five non-executive
Directors - Dan David (Chairman), Vernon Sankey (Deputy Chairman), Patrick
McNair-Wilson, Francis Wahl and Philippe Wahl.
