Re: Chief Executive Officer
Further to the announcement of 5 November 2007 of the appointment of a CEO
designate, Photo-Me (PHTM.L), the digital imaging company, announces that as
from 30 November 2007 Serge Crasnianski is no longer CEO of the Group and should
resign as a Director later this week following signing of documentation of the
agreed terms.
Serge Crasnianski, aged 65, founded KIS (which since 1994 has been Photo-Me's
manufacturing business) in 1963, when he was 21. He became a non-executive
Director of PMI in 1990 and an executive Director in 1994 and has been CEO since
1998.
Serge Crasnianski will remain available to the Company in a consultancy
capacity.
David Young, Chairman, commented: 'Serge Crasnianski has more than 100
registered inventions to his name, including the photo minilab and the liquid
crystal display booster. Since becoming CEO of PMI in 1998, he has driven
forward both the vending and manufacturing sides of PMI's business. After 44
years in a prominent position with PMI and KIS, he fully deserves his
retirement.'
Thierry Barel, whom the Board had announced as CEO Designate on 5 November 2007,
has taken up the position of CEO today, Monday 3 December 2007. He joined the
Company in April of this year. Of the appointment, Chairman David Young
commented: 'Thierry Barel is well qualified for the CEO's role, having run an
international group twice the size of Photo-Me, possessing a technological
background, and having spent most of his life in Continental Europe, which is
the base of Photo-Me's manufacturing activities and the origin of most of the
profit of its vending activities. He has much less to learn about the Group than
an external appointee, yet is new enough to the Group to have, and be receptive
to, fresh ideas.'
