Acquisition of the social housing business assets of Makers UK Limited
Mears Group PLC ('Mears') announces that it has entered into a contract to
acquire the majority of the social housing business assets of Makers UK Limited,
a subsidiary of Keller Group plc, for a nominal consideration. The acquisition
will complete on 28 September 2007.
The assets comprise social housing maintenance contracts with a number of local
authorities largely within the M25. Mears anticipates annualised revenue of
approximately £10 million from these contracts once all the contracts are
mobilised. Approximately 100 staff will transfer as part of the acquisition.
Commenting on the acquisition, Bob Holt, said:
