Mears Group PLC is pleased to announce the proposed appointment of Stuart John
Black as Chief Operating Officer. He will join the Board on 15th November 2004
as an Executive Director and will assume day-to-day responsibility for the
operational activity of Mears. Stuart is 40 years old and is currently Group
Business Development Director with Mouchel Parkman plc. He has a successful
track record over 20 years in support services organisations at different stages
of the business cycle.

Stuart Black currently holds, and in the past five years has held, the following
directorships:

There is no further information required to be announced pursuant to Schedule 2
