                                 Board Changes
                    Andrew Smith Appointed Finance Director

The Board of Mears Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Smith
to Finance Director. Andrew joined the Group in 1999 and was appointed to the
Board in March 2007 as Executive Director.

The Company announced with its interim results on 21 August 2007 that David
Robertson, who has been Finance Director since July 1997, would be stepping down
from the Board in March 2008 and accordingly he has today resigned as a Director
of the Company.

Commenting, Bob Holt, Chairman of Mears Group, said:

'Andrew's move into the Finance Director position has been carried out very
efficiently and I am delighted to be working with him as we continue to grow the
Company.  On behalf of the Company and its shareholders I would like to thank
David for all his hard work in the last 10 years which has been a period of
consistent growth for the Company and we wish him all the very best in his
retirement.'
