                         Hackney and Islington Contract

The Company is pleased to announce that an independent investigation
commissioned by the Family Mosaic Housing Association in Hackney and Islington
('Family Mosaic'), and accepted by the social housing regulator, The Housing
Corporation, has confirmed that the Company did not falsify information relating
to the repairs service for Family Mosaic. The investigation was based on an
analysis of over 30,000 repair jobs.


Commenting, Bob Holt, Chief Executive of Mears Group, said:

'We are very pleased with the outcome. We took the allegations very seriously
and welcomed the independent investigation which is now concluded.'
