Mears Group PLC - New Partnership Deal
Mears Group PLC is pleased to announce its selection as a preferred partner for
a 7 year contract worth up to £200 million with Sheffield City Council.
Mears has achieved preferred partner status and is expected to provide a range
of refurbishment works as part of the Government's Decent Homes Initiative. In
conjunction with 4 other partners Mears will assist Sheffield with their £1
billion programme to upgrade the housing stock in the period up to 2011. Formal
appointment is expected in October 2004 and the work is scheduled to commence in
November 2004.
The Group's order book now stands at in excess of £750 million and extends until
2019.
Commenting on the award, Bob Holt Chairman of Mears said 'We are delighted to
have been successful in being selected as a preferred partner for this long-term
partnership contract. We look forward to working with Sheffield and to building
a lasting relationship.'
