                         APPOINTS NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR

Mercury, the property services group, is delighted to announce that Simon Harvey
Michaels has been appointed as Finance Director with effect from 1 January 2006.
Anthony McFarland who has been acting as interim Finance Director will remain on
the Board as a Non-executive Director.

Simon, aged 37 years, joins Mercury from Harvey Nash Group plc, the specialist
recruitment services provider, where he held senior financial positions. From
2002, he was Finance Director of the Group's UK & US Operations and prior to
that, Finance Director, UK Operations, having joined the business in 2000. Simon
was also involved in the restructuring of Harvey Nash and the acquisition and
integration of new businesses.

Previously, Simon worked for RP Corporate Strategy, the privately owned Strategy
Consultancy. At RP Corporate Strategy, Simon provided business strategy advice
on property-related ventures. Between 1990 and 1998, he held financial positions
with Coopers & Lybrand, London and Gibson Appleby Chartered Accountants,
Brighton.

Commenting on the new appointment, David Williams, Chairman, said,

'We are delighted to announce the appointment of Simon as Finance Director. He
has wide ranging financial experience, and his knowledge of the property sector
will also be beneficial as we continue to grow Mercury.

I would also like to thank Anthony McFarland who had been acting as interim
Finance Director. I am pleased that he will be staying with us in a
non-executive capacity.'

Simon Michaels commented,
