VoyagerIT.com plc TAKES STAKE IN UK'S SECOND BUSIEST INTERNET SHOPPING SITE
VoyagerIT.com plc, the AIM-listed internet, IT and media investment fund
headed by Mr Stephen Dean, announces that in line with its continuing policy
of developing a portfolio of long-term investments in growth-oriented smaller
companies in the sector, it has acquired 147,253 ordinary shares in Shownet
Plc, the UK's second busiest internet shopping site, for a total consideration
of £210,572.
Shownet Plc provides an on-line three-dimensional high street portal for
leading UK high street retailers such as Amazan.co.uk, BT, Barclays Bank,
Blockbuster Entertainment, C & A, Nationwide, Thomas Cook, Thorntons, W H
Smith and Carphone Warehouse. Since it was founded thirteen months ago Shownet
has grown rapidly into the UK's second most popular internet shopping site and
currently hosts a total of 18 retailers with an established registered user
base in excess of 6,000.
