Statement re: Disposal of Aerospace OEM Division
Melrose PLC announces that in accordance with its stated strategy its advisor NM
Rothschild is about to start the process of marketing the Company's Aerospace
OEM division. As indicated in our interim results for the six month period to 30
June 2006 this division continues to perform well with a strong order book for
2007.

Melrose is a specialist manufacturing investor. Melrose was floated on AIM on 28
October 2003 with the strategy of acquiring businesses whose performance the
Directors believe can be improved to create shareholder value. The Directors
have extensive experience of identifying and evaluating acquisition
opportunities, quoted and unquoted, both in the UK and overseas.
During May 2005 Melrose acquired two specialist engineering companies, Dynacast
and McKechnie, for an enterprise value of £429 million.
In December 2005 Melrose PLC moved on to London's main exchange.
