Melrose PLC ("Melrose") - Rule 2.10 Announcement

Relevant securities in issue

Following the announcement made by Melrose on 4 November 2004 in connection 
with the possible offer for the ordinary and preference share capital of Novar 
plc, in accordance with Rule 2.10 of The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, it
is confirmed that, as at 4 November 2004, Melrose had in issue 13,120,000 
ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each and 50,000 convertible B shares of 100 pence 
each. The International Securities Identification number for Melrose ordinary 
shares is GB0033679068.
