                JPMORGAN FLEMING MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC



                           FOURTH QUARTERLY DIVIDEND


The Directors have declared that a fourth quarterly dividend of 9.00p per share
will be paid on 2nd May 2006 to shareholders on the register as at close of
business on 18th April 2006. Together with the three interim dividends of 4.25p
each already paid, this gives a total dividend for the financial year ended 31st
January 2006 of 21.75p and represents an increase of approximately 10.1% over
the previous year.
