THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

FOURTH QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a fourth quarterly dividend of 18.00p per share will be paid on 3^rd May 2011 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 15^th April 2011.  Please note this will be a cash dividend only, with no Dividend Re-investment Plan facility.
