THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

FIRST QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a first quarterly dividend of 6.00p per share will be paid on 1st August 2012 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 6th July 2012.  Please note this payment will include a Dividend Re-investment Plan facility.
