THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

THIRD QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a third quarterly dividend of 6.00p per share for the year ended 31^st January 2013 will be paid on 1st February 2013 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 4^th January 2013.

The Election Date for the Dividend Re-Investment Plan will be 18^th January 2013.
