THE MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

THIRD QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Directors have declared that a third quarterly dividend of 10.25p per share for the year ended 31^st January 2017 will be paid on 1^st February 2017 to shareholders on the register as at the close of business on 16^th December 2016.  The ex-dividend date will be 15^th December 2016.  Please note this payment will include a Dividend Re-investment Plan facility, for which the election date will be 11^th January 2017.
