                JPMORGAN FLEMING MERCANTILE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC


                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION



   This announcement replaces announcement number 0867D released at 17.21 on
 Tuesday 16th May 2006. This announcement is re-released under the correct name
  of JPMorgan Fleming Mercantile Investment Trust plc and not JPMorgan Fleming
             Claverhouse Investment Trust plc as previously stated.



JPMorgan Fleming Mercantile Investment Trust plc announces that today in the
market they purchased for cancellation 500,000 ordinary shares at 1013 pence per
share representing 0.38% of the ordinary shares in issue.



The current repurchase authority for 20,296,481 shares was approved by
shareholders on 19th May 2005.  To date 6,008,466 shares have been repurchased
under this authority.



The remaining shares in issue following this repurchase total 129,391,676.
