Following the announcement made on 13 February 2001, regarding the Board's
decision to extend an invitation to Mr Sean O'Connor to join the Board of YJL
plc to take effect on 15 March 2001.  We wish to inform you that, regrettably,
due to a conflict of interest Mr O'Connor has decided to decline the offer.
