                 Change of accounting reference date


Metals Exploration plc ("the Company" or "Metals Ex") announces that,
as disclosed in the report and accounts for the year ended 30
September 2008, the Company's accounting reference date has been
changed to 31 December.  Metals Ex will therefore produce audited
accounts for the three month period ended 31 December 2008 and
annually thereafter.  This change has been made to align the
Company's annual reporting period with its subsidiary companies in
the Philippines and Indonesia.
