E-DISTRICT.NET PLC
RELATIONSHIP FORMED WITH ENGAGE
E-district.net plc ('e-district'), the AIM-quoted owner and
developer of LeisureDistrict.net, a leading interactive family
entertainment and community channel, has signed an agreement
with Engage, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENGA), the leading provider of next
generation online marketing solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Engage will sell sponsorship
and banner ads in all regions that both organisations operate
in, with particular emphasis on the US and the UK where Engage
has set up a dedicated sales team.
Engage will also work with E-District in selling the new full
page TV style ads that E-District is introducing through iTV
platforms over the coming months. In addition, the agreement
with Engage will allow E-District to gain a greater
understanding of its online audience through subscribing to
Engage Knowledge, a database containing over 52 million
anonymous profiles of observed consumer online interests
across 800 main interest categories.
E-District is installing Engage AdManager to manage the
distribution of all advertising on its new platform, ensuring
maximum control and efficiency, with the data being linked to
E-district's other back office systems.
This latest agreement follows recent announcements, which
included a UK distribution agreement with Cable & Wireless
Communications plc, a sharp growth in registered users and
page impressions in the first quarter of 2000 and an
interactive digital production agreement with Unity Pictures.
Steve Laitman, e-district's Chief Executive said :
'Engage is a fantastic step forward in E-District's plan for
strategic growth both in the UK and the US. We believe that
this alliance will prove very beneficial to both E-District
and Engage as their businesses are not only compatible but the
levels of technology across both companies will enhance and
support each other.'
Mike Weston, Media Sales Director, Engage said :
'Engage is delighted to be working with E-District as one of
the first customers to benefit from the
combined power of our next generation solutions. Making full
use of the media sales, profiling and targeting tools we
offer, Engage and E-District will be uniquely placed to take
advantage of both PC based and broadband opportunities to
deliver real solutions for online marketers.'
