There were 3.4 million registered users at the end of the fourth quarter (30 September 2000: 2.7 million). Average monthly compound growth in registered users for the fourth quarter was 8.3% (quarter to September 2000: 8.8%). * Similarly, increased rates of stickiness achieved in the third quarter have been retained through the remainder of the year. Approximately 80% of registered users were active in the final quarter. * The percentage growth in global page impressions was greater than that of the registered user base. LeisureDistrict Network services generated 367 million page impressions in the month of December 2000 (September 2000: 273 million). * Significantly, interactive TV ('iTV') has overtaken the PC as the most popular device with which to access LeisureDistrict Network services. 54% of registered users were iTV-based as at 31 December 2000. Typically, these users generate significantly more monthly page impressions than PC users, accounting for the accelerated traffic growth noted above. * Mid-December saw a limited launch of the first LeisureDistrict Network services for games console users. US Sega Dreamcast users can now access a range of LeisureDistrict content and participate in the LeisureDistrict community. This is expected to generate significant additional users during 2001. Steve Laitman, Chief Executive commented: 'In prior years, the Christmas holidays have adversely impacted user and traffic growth in the final quarter. We are delighted to be able to announce such strong figures in spite of this seasonal factor. This quarter rounds off a year of explosive growth in which our registered user base has more than doubled and our monthly traffic has increased by over 360%. Much of this growth has been achieved by maintaining our focus on interactive TV as a primary means of providing interactive entertainment services. iTV now accounts for more than half of the LeisureDistrict Network global user base. In the year ahead, we expect to support additional platforms that clearly demonstrate significant potential for earnings. The launch of web-enabled game console services in December is the first such initiative.' Notes 1 Registered users : Those who, having entered basic registration data and obtained a user ID and password, have accessed LeisureDistrict Network services within the previous four months. 2 Active users : Registered users who have accessed the LeisureDistrict Network within the previous month.
