e-district announces interactive TV licensing agreement
with ngame
e-district.net plc, the interactive TV entertainment company, announced that
it has signed a licensing agreement with nGame, a leading developer of
multi-player games for new platforms including WAP. Under the terms of the
agreement, e-district will exclusively deliver subscription-based versions of
two of nGame's most popular games titles, Alien Fish Exchange and Merchant
Princes, to Telewest viewers in the UK. Both games are designed to build
community and multi-player competition.
The agreement with nGame is the first to result from the establishment of
e-district's Affiliate Developers Programme earlier this year. This programme
is designed to bring quality games titles to interactive TV through
partnerships with established games developers and licensors.
Eddie Abrams, Director of e-district said:
'We are pleased to announce the licence agreement with nGame, which is the
first of a series of licences relating to subscription and pay-per-play games
that we expect to announce over the coming months.
'We aim to provide the best possible interactive gaming experience available,
through partners such as Telewest. These new games will provide many Telewest
interactive TV subscribers with their first experience of multi-player gaming,
strengthening our position in the supply of entertainment services to the
digital marketplace. '
