YooMedia plc ('YooMedia')
YooMedia and Sportingbet in partnership deal
YooMedia, the interactive entertainment and wireless group, is to take
Sportingbet Group, the world's leading online gambling business, on to
interactive television. The two companies have signed an exclusive three-year
partnership agreement, which will initially see YooMedia launching Sportingbet's
popular games products on all digital platforms in the UK next year. Revenues
generated by these products will be shared.
Sportingbet's wide portfolio of fixed odds betting games, currently accessible
online at www.sportingbet.com, includes Virtual Horseracing, an exciting card
game called 'Super Hi-Lo' and a dice game called 'High Roller'.
Andrew Fearon, chief operating officer of YooMedia, said: 'Sportingbet is one of
the most successful online businesses in its arena and I am delighted that
YooMedia is to be its interactive television partner. We plan to launch first on
cable and then roll out its games products on to satellite and DTT. This
demonstrates our ability to continue to premium content on to interactive
television in partnership with strong brands.'
Nigel Payne, CEO of Sportingbet, commented: 'The move to television is an
important strategy for Sportingbet. It will widen our audiences and make our
games more accessible to those customers without a PC. YooMedia has proven it
can successfully take established online brands onto interactive TV with their
work with Tetris, Cartoon Network and Dateline. Yoomedia technical expertise
coupled with their understanding of the interactive market makes them the
perfect partner'
