e-district.net plc ('e-district'): December trading update
e-district, a leading provider of global interactive entertainment services
for the converging new media market, announces that its results for the year
ending 31 December 2000 are expected to be in line with market expectations.
As anticipated, these figures have been driven by an increased demand for
advertising sales during the pre-Christmas period.
Demand has been particularly strong for the company's newly available
advertising tool, an enhanced broadband format deliverable over interactive
TV. This has been well received by advertising companies and the market, and
will continue to be enhanced by e-district during 2001.
In addition, the company announces strong takeup of its UK interactive
television services, launched earlier in the year. There are now over 400,000
users of these services. As of 30 November 2000, e-district's total users
stood at 3.2 million, of which 2.6 million were active in the month. 54% of
registered users globally access e-district's services via interactive TV
devices.
