BOARD CHANGES

Mitchells & Butlers plc announces that Mike Bramley, Managing Director of the Pubs & Bars division, has decided to retire from the Board of the Company on 30 April 2009 when he will be 58.  He will step down as Managing Director of Pubs & Bars at the end of the first half of the current financial year on 11 April 2009.  Subsequently, the operational structure of the business will be consolidated under Adam Fowle, currently Managing Director of the Restaurants division.  From this date Adam will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer.  Mike will assist in the operational handover of the Pubs & Bars business until his retirement.

Adam Fowle initially joined Mitchells & Butlers in 1985 and was previously Managing Director of the Pubs & Bars division between 1999 and 2002. He is aged 50 and has been Managing Director for the Restaurants division since October 2007.
