BOARD CHANGES
Mitchells & Butlers plc today announces that Tony Hughes, aged 59, will retire
from the Board of the Company on 31 December 2007. He will step down as Managing
Director, Restaurants on 1 October 2007, the end of the current financial year,
and will be succeeded by Adam Fowle, currently Managing Director for the
Acquired Sites and Business Development, who will join the Board on that date.
Tony will assist in the operational handover and the further development of food
capabilities in the business until his retirement.
Adam Fowle has some 20 years' experience in licensed retailing, having joined
Mitchells & Butlers in 1985. He was previously Managing Director of the Pubs &
Bars division, before being Retail Director at Sainsbury's for two years. He
rejoined Mitchells & Butlers in 2005.

outstanding contribution to building Mitchells & Butlers' leadership position in
the eating out market over the past 12 years, and wish him well in his future
retirement. I look forward to the strong contribution that Adam Fowle's retail
