Mitchells & Butlers announces that Drummond Hall, the Senior Independent Non
Executive Director is appointed Deputy Chairman with immediate effect.
Roger Carr will stand down as Chairman of the Company after the conclusion of
the strategic review. As previously stated, the strategic review will be
concluded under the chairmanship of Mr Carr and the outcome of the review will
be announced by the end of May 2008. Subject to the outcome of that review, it
is planned that Drummond Hall will succeed Roger Carr as Chairman of the
Company.
Drummond Hall has been a Non Executive Director of Mitchells & Butlers since
2004 and has been its Senior Independent Director since February 2007. He was
Chief Executive of Dairy Crest plc from July 2002 until December 2006. Prior to
being appointed to the board of Dairy Crest in September 2001 he was Managing
Director of the Beer and Cider Division of H P Bulmer and previous to that he
held marketing roles with Procter & Gamble, Mars and Pepsi Cola. He is also a
Non Executive Director of TNS plc.
