Violet Capital Group Ltd is wholly owned by the Tchenguiz Family Trust. In addition to the total holding referred to above which has not changed since the announcement of 26 January 2007, Violet Capital Group Ltd now has an economic interest through contracts for differences (with no voting rights) in a total of 108,086,471 shares in Mitchells & Butlers plc, representing  26.77% of the ordinary shares in the Company. This economic interest is over and above their interest in 3% of the ordinary shares in the Company with voting rights attached.
