Additional Listing of Shares
At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today all proposed
resolutions were duly passed; these relate to the 34 for 41 consolidation of the
Company's share capital to reflect the return of funds to shareholders by way of
a special dividend of £1 per existing ordinary share and a renewed authority for
the Company to purchase up to 10% of its own shares.
Accordingly, Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and the
London Stock Exchange for 406,022,360 Ordinary shares of 8 13/24p each to trade
on the London Stock Exchange and to be admitted to the Official List.
403,779,693 shares have been issued and 2,242,667 shares are to be block listed.
The Block listings consist of 135,018 shares to be issued under The Sharesave
Scheme and 2,107,649 shares to be issued under The Executive Option Scheme/Plan.
It is expected that dealings in the new shares will commence on 18 October 2006.
Shares will also be marked ex the special dividend from 18 October 2006.
