MITIE Group appoints Ruby McGregor-Smith
as Finance Director.



MITIE Group PLC (MITIE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Ruby
McGregor-Smith ACA as an Executive Director of the Company with the title and
responsibilities of Finance Director with effect from 2 December 2002.



Ruby has extensive experience of our sector following previous roles at Babcock
International Group PLC and Serco Group PLC. In those roles she developed a
thorough understanding of the financial accounting standards that apply to
contracting and service companies. Ruby also has detailed knowledge of the
financial aspects of major contracts and their cash flow implications. She
brings to the post an enthusiastic hands-on approach that will fit well within
MITIE.



Ruby (39) is married with 2 children. She will be based in our head office in
Wrington, Bristol, but will be spending a significant  proportion of her time in
the operating companies across the country.



Mrs McGregor-Smith holds no directorships in any other publicly quoted companies
and has not done so in the last five years. She has no interests in MITIE shares
and there are no details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2
(b) to (g) of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules in connection with her
appointment.



Commenting on the appointment, Ian Stewart, Chief Executive stated:

She will add considerable value to the finance team throughout MITIE.'
