                                 Board Changes

Gleeson (GLE.L), the house-builder specialising in urban regeneration, is
pleased to announce the appointment as a non-executive Director, with immediate
effect, of Colin Dearlove, formerly Group Finance Director of Barratt
Developments plc, a FTSE 100 company.

Colin Dearlove will replace Eric Stobart, who will retire from the Board on 31
January 2008, at the conclusion of three three-year terms (the limit for
corporate governance considerations of independence).

Colin Dearlove, BA, FCMA, aged 56, was at Barratt Developments, the
Newcastle-based national house-builder, from 1981 to 2006, as Group Chief
Accountant from 1985 to 1992 and as Group Finance Director from 1992 to 2006.

Save as disclosed above, Colin Dearlove has held no directorship in any other
publicly quoted company at any time  during the previous five years and there
are no details to be disclosed by Mr Dearlove under paragraph 9.6.13R of the 
Listing Rules.

Welcoming Colin Dearlove to the Gleeson Board, Dermot Gleeson, Chairman, stated
'My Board colleagues and I are delighted that someone of Colin's standing in the
house-building industry is joining our Board. His considerable experience at
Barratt Developments of implementing strategic change, and knowledge of the UK
housing market, particularly in the North of England, where much of Gleeson's
Regeneration business is located, are also major plusses.'

Thanking Eric Stobart for his contribution to the Gleeson Board, Dermot Gleeson
stated 'Eric Stobart, who has chaired the Audit Committee since 1999, has been a
truly exceptional colleague.  He has a huge depth of financial knowledge and has
proved to be an immensely wise and unflappable adviser.  The Group owes him an
enormous debt of gratitude'

Notes for Editors:

Following Colin Dearlove's appointment and Eric Stobart's retirement, the
Gleeson Board of Directors will comprise six  members. Two are executive - Paul
Wallwork (Group Chief Executive) and Chris Holt (Group Finance Director) - and
four  are non-executive - Dermot Gleeson (Chairman), Ross Ancell, Colin Dearlove
and Terry Morgan.
